when AKÜ was established by ten Estonian NGOs. Officially AKÜ was
registered on 5th of February 2007. AKÜ has one full time and 2 part time employees.
Fields of activity:
- Participating in policy making processes and in the implementation of
development policy;
- Monitoring of national DC projects;
- Development education and awareness raising in Estonia amongst different target groups;
- Information exchange and cooperation with organisations, individuals and networks engaged in development cooperation in Estonia and elsewhere;
- Facilitation of information exchange and cooperation between members;
- Preparation of development cooperation projects and their implementation in areas where member organisations are not active;
- Capacity building of members.
Why GLEN?
GLEN network is a powerful tool how to talk about our responsibility in a globalised world. GLEN offers to young people and also for partner organisations a unique chance to broaden one's view to the world and share experiences and ideas. Since development education is a new topic in Estonia, GLEN provides a "seedbed" for potential multipliers and activists on this field.
Explore the world with open minds. Get inspired and share it!
ASA-Programm (GERMANY)
Contact:
Laure Heinrich
About:
The ASA Programme is a programme in development education that qualifies young decision makers for work in the field of South-North relations and development policy and young multipliers for engagement in development education, i.e. activities in awareness raising on global interdependence. ASA is a programme of InWEnt (Capacity Building International) the biggest German non-profit company working in capacity building for experts in various development-related fields. ASA is financed by the German Ministry for International Co-operation and Development (BMZ), most of the German Federal States and the Swiss Development Agency DEZA.
GLEN Latvia (LATVIA)
Contact: Janis Kirpitis
About:
GLEN Latvia was established in 2005 mainly by former GLEN participants from Latvia. Another Latvian NGO was GLEN partner in 2004. We have a board consisting of 5 members (all of them former GLEN participants).
GLEN Latvia is doing development cooperation projects in Georgia and global education projects in Latvia. A member of GLEN Latvia is also taking part in the working group of the Latvian Development Education strategy. GLEN Latvia has a good influence on Latvian development policies;
Why GLEN?
GLEN Latvia was genuinely established as an NGO to work in the field of development within the GLEN framework. We see Europe as a common space for learning and for exchanging experiences.
GLEN is not just fun, but the project should be done in a professional manner as well!
BRECI-Enseignement agricole francais (FRANCE)
Contact: Patrice Lallemand
About:
SupAgro Florac is a school in higher studies in agronomy and a teaching and learning center for teachers working in french agricultural schools. It's in charge of the coordination of the Géco-GLEN program in France.
All political decisions about Géco-GLEN in France are taken by Pierre Autissier (head of BRECI) and Sophie Raynaud (responsible for Africa in BRECI). BRECI is the office of European and International cooperation for agricultural education. This office, based in Paris, belongs to the French ministry of agriculture and fisheries. 5 persons are working in this office.
SupAgro Florac pilots the mission of “global education” for the French ministry of agriculture. It means that SupAgro Florac coordinates all actions in these fields, for the different educative actors of the agricultural pedagogical system. SupAgro Florac is continuously in contact with BRECI and participates in the elaboration of the BRECI's policy in the field of "global education" in agricultural schools.
Why GLEN?
BRECI is an institution. The french law gives it the mission of “International cooperation”. BRECI has signed an agreement with ASA program to develop Géco-GLEN program in France.
We hope all new Géco-GLEN participants will reinvest their experience and participate in the promotion of global education values in France and in Europe.
