Internship acquisition for 2011 starts now!

GLEN is looking for organisations in the countries of the Global South who would be interested in hosting two or three young Europeans for an internship of 3 months in the summer of 2011.

Internships are to promote mutual exchange and equal cooperation and give organisations the opportunity to work together with young committed students and/or young professionals and to assist them in getting personal experience in different realities of the development field.

The internships can be proposed by non-governmental organisations or other
organisations from the South or from Europe and range from very independent research stays to practical work in an organisation, starting with theatre workshop on HIV/AIDS in South Africa, going on with realisation of IT/computer courses in Bosnia and ending with social work projects in India.

No financial commitment is required from the organisations except for the costs of the necessary work equipment that they will provide for the interns.

At the same time internships are not to be understood as expert missions of development cooperation! The participants are no experts but active young Europeans with good qualifications and preparation who want to share their experience with Southern organisations and learn more about global interdependencies and development issues, in order to do global education once they are back in Europe.

If you know or represent such an organisation, please find further information in the documents attached below (explanations and proposal form in English or French).
